Resident doctors from across the country, who had gone on strike against the rape and murder of a female trainee doctor in a Kolkata hospital, have called off their strike. After meeting Union Health Minister JP Nadda today, the resident doctors have announced the end of the strike.
Federation of Resident Doctors Association President Aviral Mathur said, “We met Union Minister JP Nadda at his residence and presented our revised demands to him. He has assured us that he will provide a safe working environment for the doctors.”
Aviral Mathur further said, “The Health Minister has assured us that our demands will be met in a timely manner. A committee will be formed and we will be a part of it. All our demands have been accepted, so FORDA is withdrawing the strike.”

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the Calcutta High Court has ordered to hand over the investigation of the alleged rape and murder of a female doctor to the CBI. Now the CBI will investigate every aspect.
Let us tell you that the body of a female trainee doctor was found in a semi-nude state in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital last Friday. According to her postmortem report, the accused first raped the girl and then killed her. To confirm, he also strangled the girl twice. At the same time, the police have arrested a person in this case.
