The Indian Air Force and the Indian Army on Saturday created history by paradropping the world’s first portable hospital at an altitude of 15 thousand feet.
This is the first paradrop of this indigenously built hospital. The Indian Air Force used its advanced tactical transport aircraft C-130J Super Hercules to airlift and accurately para-drop the cube.
According to the Ministry of Defense, these critical trauma care cubes have been indigenously developed under the ‘India Health Initiative Cooperation Hit and Maitri’ project.
The test was done in line with the vision to facilitate access and provide critical supplies in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) affected areas. The Air Force and the Army have jointly conducted the first accurate para drop test of the Arogya Maitri Health Cube at an altitude of 15 thousand feet.
The successful para-drop test and deployment of the Trauma Care Cube underlined the commitment to provide timely and effective assistance by exemplifying synergy and jointness of the armed forces.
The Indian Air Force used its advanced tactical transport aircraft C-130J Super Hercules to airlift and precisely para-drop the Cube. The Indian Army’s Para Brigade played a key role in the successful deployment of the Trauma Care Cube using its advanced precision drop equipment.
This demonstration proved the capability of such specialized military assets to effectively support HADR operations even in the most remote and mountainous areas. Arogya Maitri Bhishma Cube is a revolutionary initiative of the Government of India, reflecting its commitment towards global health and well-being.
It is a state-of-the-art portable cube containing medical essentials, designed for rapid deployment in emergency and disaster areas. Due to its modular design and ease of use, Bhishma Cube can be transported by air, sea, land or drone, ensuring timely medical assistance even in the most remote locations.
