Politics has now started on the case of rape and murder of a trainee female doctor at RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata. On one hand, opposition parties including BJP are questioning the Mamata government and accusing it of protecting the accused, while the parties of India Alliance are seen standing in support of the government.
But Rahul Gandhi is the only leader of India Alliance who has supported the victim and said that instead of providing justice to the victim, efforts are being made to save the accused. After which now Trinamool Congress has become aggressive on Congress.
TMC has demanded the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah after his name came up in the MUDA land scam. Former TMC Rajya Sabha MP Kunal Ghosh wrote on Twitter, “Rahul Gandhi will you ask your Chief Minister to resign? This is a serious allegation of corruption. Without knowing the correct information about the incident in West Bengal, without knowing the steps taken by Mamata Banerjee, you commented on social media. Now, will you please take action against your CM?”
In fact, while supporting the victim, Rahul Gandhi said on Thursday, “I stand with the victim’s family in this unbearable pain. They should get justice at all costs and the culprits should be punished in such a way that it is presented as an example in the society.
The attempt to save the accused instead of providing justice to the victim raises serious questions on the hospital and the local administration.” After which now TMC is not shying away from cornering the Congress on the issue of Siddaramaiah.
