Amit Malviya, Bharatiya Janata Party leader has strongly attacked the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the West Bengal government to investigate allegations of financial irregularities against Dr. Sandeep Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
Malviya targeted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and said that this step is an attempt to save Dr. Sandeep Ghosh. The state government has formed an SIT to investigate the matter, which includes four IPS officers. Amit Malviya has raised the question about how are police officers capable of investigating financial crimes.
He also alleged that Mamata Banerjee’s government is deliberately taking this step to prevent the CBI from arresting Sandeep Ghosh. ‘The West Bengal Police will arrest Sandeep Ghosh at the right time so that the CBI cannot take him into custody’, said Malvviya.
Amit Malviya has demanded the resignation of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Malviya said that as long as Mamata Banerjee remains in office, a fair investigation into the rape and murder of a female doctor is not possible.
Malviya has demanded Mamata Banerjee to resign immediately so that the case can be investigated impartially. It is noteworthy that the CBI has been questioning Sandeep Ghosh for the last five days.
The current situation in West Bengal is very disappointing and clearly shows the bad atmosphere when it comes to the safety of women.
