On Monday a Supreme Court bench led by CJI DY Chandrachud will be hearing the Kolkata Rape and Murder case at 10:30 am.
Notably, the apex court had taken suo moto cognisance in the rape-murder case. All are waiting for the top court’s decision and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continues its probe.
The Kolkata Rape and Murder Case will be heard by a three-judge bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud at 10: 30 am.
The case has been officially titled ‘In Re: Alleged rape and murder incident of a trainee doctor in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata and Related Issue’.
Notably, the Calcutta High Court handed the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The Indian Medical Association (IMA) will decide on the basis of this hearing. According to the postmortem report, injury marks have been found on the head, both cheeks, lips, nose, right jaw, chin, neck, left hand, shoulder, knee, ankle and private part of the victim. The postmortem report states that bleeding was observed in the lungs along with blood clots in many parts of the body.
At the same time, the protesting doctors are demanding justice for the victim and strict safety laws for health workers. AIIMS RDA wrote a letter to PM Modi to bring an ordinance in this regard.
