For the second consecutive term, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has received an “A+” rating in the Global Finance Central Banker Report Card 2024. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised Shaktikanta Das and congratulated him.
PM Modi wrote on the social media platform X, “Congratulations to RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das for this achievement and that too for the second time. This is a recognition of his leadership in RBI and his work towards ensuring economic growth and stability.”

These ratings have been done by Global Finance magazine, the magazine released the names of governors who received the highest grades of “A+”, “A” or “A-“. The only three central bank governors who received the “A+” rating were RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, Denmark’s Christian Ketel Thomsen and Switzerland’s Thomas Jordan.
Notably, this magazine provides rankings from “A+” to “AF” grades based on success rate in inflation rate control, economic growth target, currency stability and interest rate management. Global Finance founded in 1987 has a circulation of 50,0000 and readers in 193 countries and territories.
Global Finance’s audience includes senior corporate and financial officers accountable for making investment and strategic decisions at multinational companies.
