Prime Minister Narendra Modi is presently on a visit to Ukraine. He met the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. Both the leaders reached the Ukraine National Museum, where they paid tribute to the children killed in the war and took stock of the exhibition organized in memory of the children killed in the war.
PM Modi expressed grief over the death of children killed in the Russia-Ukraine war. During this, both the heads of state also hugged each other. Pictures of the meeting of PM Modi and Zelensky are going viral on social media where both can be seen getting emotional. PM Modi is seen keeping his hand on Zelensky’s shoulder and talking about something serious.

PM Modi wrote on Instagram, “Any war is most destructive for children. I am with the families of the children killed in the war. I pray that they get the strength to fight this sorrow.” Bilateral talks will be held between PM Modi and President Zelensky at the Mariinsky Palace, said the official residence of the President of Ukraine. The Mariinsky Palace has been fully decorated to welcome PM Modi.
PM Modi reached Kyiv by train from Poland this morning. During this, people of the Indian community gave a grand welcome to PM Modi. PM Modi also paid tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Fomin Botanical Garden.

PM Modi posted a picture on social media while paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi in Kyiv. He wrote, “Bapu’s statues are present all over the world. It gives hope to millions of people. We all should follow the path of humanity shown by Bapu.”
PM Modi has reached Ukraine on the invitation of President Zelensky. Earlier last month, PM Modi also visited Russia. PM Modi has emphasized on resolving the Russia-Ukraine issue through dialogue from every platform. He has said that this is not the time for war.
