The havoc of rain in the hilly state of Uttarakhand is not stopping. There are landslides at some places and rocks are breaking and falling at other places. On Friday, due to a pile of stones and debris near Pursadi on the Badrinath National Highway in Chamoli district, the highway was closed and many vehicles got stuck on the road. However, vehicles are being sent through alternative routes.
The Director of the State Meteorological Center, Dr. Bikram Singh has issued an alert regarding heavy rain. At the same time, he has also warned about landslides and mountain falls. After heavy rains, incidents of landslides are being reported from many places.
On Friday, due to debris near Pursadi on the Badrinath National Highway, the wheels of vehicles suddenly stopped on the highway and a long queue was formed. Many vehicles got stuck on the road. Apart from this, due to the closure of the Badrinath Highway near Nandprayag, the movement of vehicles is being done through the Nandprayag-Kothiyalsain alternative route.
Due to heavy landslides between Nandprayag and Chamoli on the Badrinath National Highway, the road was blocked at two places since morning. Long queues of vehicles were formed on the highway. The police is lining up the vehicles and sending them to Chamoli via the Nandprayag-Kothiyalsain alternative route.
