On Monday night, alert army personnel foiled an infiltration attempt in Gulpur sector on the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The infiltrating terrorists fled back to the Pakistani border due to the army’s action. During this, an army soldier was martyred and this was notably an attempt of BAT attack. In this, the Pakistani army also gave cover fire to the fleeing terrorists.
It is reported that on Monday night, army personnel posted at the forward posts of the Line of Control in Gulpur sector saw suspicious activity in the nearby forest. They saw that four to five terrorists armed with weapons were trying to infiltrate. The army took immediate action and foiled the infiltration attempt. But in the meantime, an army soldier was martyred. The injured soldier has been admitted to the hospital. Due to the possibility of terrorists in the area, the army has launched a massive search operation in the entire area since Tuesday morning.
Earlier on Sunday night, the army foiled an infiltration attempt in the Lam area along the Line of Control in Nowshera in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir and killed two terrorists. The army recovered a large amount of war material including two AK-47s and a pistol from the spot.
