A bench of Justice Suryakant and Justice Ujjal Bhuiyan will pronounce the verdict on Kejriwal’s bail. Earlier on September 5, the Supreme Court had reserved the decision after hearing the arguments of both the parties.
Arvind Kejriwal has filed two petitions in the Supreme Court. The first is a petition for bail while in the second petition, he has challenged the CBI arrest and remand. It is worth noting that Kejriwal has got bail from the apex court on July 12 in the ED case. After getting interim bail in the ED case, the CBI arrested Arvind Kejriwal from Tihar Jail on June 26. This matter is related to the arrest made by the CBI and regular bail.
In the money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) first arrested Kejriwal from the Chief Minister’s residence on 21 March 2024. After 10 days of interrogation, he was sent to Tihar Jail on 1 April. During this time, Kejriwal was seen eating mango. There was a lot of politics on his not taking insulin and health. Then about 51 days later, on May 10, the Supreme Court approved Kejriwal’s release for 21 days to campaign in the Lok Sabha elections and asked him to surrender on June 2. During this time, Kejriwal campaigned for India Alliance in many places including Delhi, Punjab and surrendered in Tihar Jail on June 2. Since then he is in jail.
