Jammu & Kashmir Assembly Election 2024: Voting Continues For The first phase, 50.65 % Voting Till 3 pm

Voting is presently going on for the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections

Voting is presently going on for the first phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections. People are coming out of their homes and heading towards the polling booths. Under the first phase, people are voting in 24 assembly constituencies (16 in Kashmir and 8 in Jammu) of 8 districts in Jammu and Kashmir. 50.65 % voting has been done in the state till 3 pm.

Voting percentage in these districts is this much

Anantnag – 47.67 %

Doda – 61.90 %

Kishtwar – 70.03 %

Kulgam – 50.57 %

Pulwama – 36.90 %

Ramban – 60.04 %

Shopian – 46.84 %

People of Jammu and Kashmir are participating enthusiastically in the festival of democracy. Youth, women and elderly, are reaching the polling booth to vote. The queue of people at the polling booths shows how eager they are to elect a new government. The Election Commission has made special arrangements for the disabled people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted on X (formerly Twitter), ‘As the first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections begins, I urge all those in constituencies going to the polls today to vote in large numbers and strengthen the festival of democracy. I particularly call upon young and first-time voters to exercise their franchise’.

Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha says, “J&K Assembly elections commence today. I call upon all the voters whose assembly constituencies are voting in the first phase today to turn out in record numbers & exercise their democratic rights.
