Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to visit the United States from September 21 to 23 which is part of a three-day trip focusing at strengthening the global partnerships and discussing key international issues. Importantly, the visit will include participation in the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, hosted by US President Joe Biden , and an address at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
This visit highlights India’s commitment to the Indo-Pacific region and efforts to strengthen collaborations in technology and development. PM Modi will meet with leaders from Japan, Australia, and the US to look after the progress made by the Quad alliance over the past year and to set future goals. He will interact with the Indian diaspora in New York and hold bilateral meetings with many world leaders. The trip aims to strengthen India’s ties with the US and other Quad countries, while also addressing pressing global challenges.
PM Modi is also expected to meet former US President Donald Trump during his visit apart from his official engagements. Recently, Trump confirmed the meeting, describing Modi as a ‘fantastic man’ while speaking at a town hall in Michigan. The significant highlight of PM Modi’s visit will be his participation in the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, on September 21. The Summit will be hosted by US President Joe Biden , and will include Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio KishidThe leaders will review the progress made by the Quad over the past year and set the agenda for assisting the Indo-Pacific region in meeting its development aspirations, according to the Ministry of External Affairs.
