The district administration has taken strict action against the illegally constructed mosque in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. A mosque being built illegally in a residential area in Laksar was removed by the team of the district administration. The builders opposed this action of the administration at the same time.
During this time, a large number of police force was also present along with the Tehsildar, Municipality team. A mosque was being constructed without permission in Laksar of Laksar police station area after which the administration had instructed the builders to stop the construction, but despite this the construction work was being done and children were also being taught.
The Hindu Jagran Manch had also protested against the construction work going on in the mosque. He had lodged a complaint with the Sub-District Magistrate of Laksar. The construction was found to be illegal in the investigation. The administration got the temporary structure of the mosque removed. Laksar Tehsildar Pratap Singh Chauhan said that illegal construction was being done on vacant public land in the mosque built in the locality, which has now been removed. The Tehsildar said that the administration had asked the Intezamia Committee to stop illegal construction in the mosque, but they continued with the construction after which they were also given a notice.
The administration stopped the ongoing construction work in the presence of a heavy police force on not providing the documents and also strictly instructed them to refrain from doing any kind of construction work in the future.
