In the latest update in the Kolkata rape and murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recovered the deleted messages from RG Kar Hospital’s former principal Sandip Ghosh’s WhatsApp and is probing the matter. According to the media reports, Ghosh messaged a person saying, ‘The girl is exaggerating’.
‘Abhaya, the victim, reported previously concerns about the substandard quality of medication to Ghosh. The 31-year-old trainee doctor escalated her complaints to higher authorities after getting no response’, according to the media reports. Abhaya revealed Ghosh’s corrupt activities and in response Ghosh threatened to fail her after complaint and punished by assigning her a gruelling 36-hour shift.
The investigative agency again seeks permission for a polygraph test. It comes following the agency previously called Ghosh’s polygraph tests and layered voice analysis ‘deceptive.’ Earlier, the department also wanted Ghosh’s Narco Test and the polygraph test of Tala OC Abhijit Mondal. The investigative agency has sought permission for the same from the Sealdah Court and the plea in the matter will be heard today.
In the previous week, the West Bengal Medical Council revoked the registration of former RG Kar Principal Ghosh. Ghosh has also been removed from the list of Registered Medical Practitioners maintained by the WBMC on September 19. His licence was cancelled under many provisions of the Bengal Medical Act, 1914.
The junior doctors have also rejoined their duties partially on Saturday, last week, at many government-run hospitals in West Bengal after a pause of 42 days. While they returned to emergency services at all state-run hospitals, the doctors continued to refrain from working in the outpatient departments (OPDs).
