The first day of the second Test match being played between India and Bangladesh was ended early due to rain. Only 35 overs and 166 minutes of play could be done on the first day. At the end of the first day’s play, Bangladesh has scored 107 runs for 3 wickets in their first innings.

Mominul Haque is playing after scoring 40 and Mushfiqur Rahim is playing after scoring 6 runs. Earlier, due to the rain overnight last morning, the toss was delayed this morning and the match started about 1 hour late.

India won the toss and decided to bowl first. Despite the cloudy weather, Bangladesh played well in the morning session. Captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto (28*) and Mominul Haque (17*) gave some relief to Bangladesh by making an unbroken partnership of 45 runs in difficult conditions.

Although there was grass on the pitch, the bounce was low due to black soil and the surface was slow. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj made the new ball swing. Bangladesh openers Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan escaped dismissal on a few occasions, but by the time Akash Deep came in, they looked completely confident against the new ball.

India’s new fast bowler once again did wonders in his first over itself, when he got Zakir (00) caught by Yashasvi Jaiswal in the gully. Soon after, the fast bowler gave India a double success by dismissing Shadman (24) LBW.

After this, Mominul Haque and captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto took the innings forward and added 51 runs for the third wicket. Ashwin broke this partnership by LBWing Nazmul at the total score of 80. Nazmul scored 31 runs. After this, Mominul and Mushfiqur took Bangladesh’s innings to 100. After the 35th over, the game was stopped due to poor light and then heavy rain came, after which the game was declared over.
