High security has been arranged in Mumbai, at different locations including worship places, following the Intelligence Bureau warned of a possible terror attack.
A senior police officer said, ‘We have been instructed to conduct mock drills in the crowded areas and religious places. All deputy commissioners of police are monitoring actively the security in their respective jurisdictions’.
On Friday, there was heavy police presence in the bustling Crawford Market area. The police further added, ‘With upcoming festivals and assembly elections, we are conducting security drills at Crawford Market and other key locations across the city’.
In Chembur, a senior police officer inspected a temple’s security arrangements, while in Matunga, a temple was closed for devotees following a police inspection in the morning.
