There are several freedom fighters which are remembered for their contribution and sacrifice they made in getting us independence but Bhagat Singh is someone who inspires the youth of independent India. The day marks the birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh who still inspire the youth of Independent India. Singh was born on September 28, 1907 in Bangla, Punjab and was raised in a Sikh family. He was sentenced to death just at the age of 23 years by the British government in the Lahore Conspiracy Case on March 23, 1931.
His promise to India’s independence was ignited just at the age of 12 when he witnessed the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre. The death of Lala Lajpat Rai affected him very deeply and his fellow revolutionaries to seek revenge. They targeted John P. Saunders, a police officer responsible for Lala’s death, believing mistakenly him to be James A.Scott. Even before their trial on March 24, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru were executed in secrecy on March 24.
