The Maharashtra government has taken a significant decision to give the cow the status of ‘Rajya Mata-Gomata’ in the cabinet meeting on Monday. Notably, 38 decisions have been approved in today’s cabinet meeting of the state government.
A cabinet meeting was held on Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. In this meeting, keeping in mind the status of indigenous cows in Indian culture since the Vedic period, the usefulness of indigenous cow milk in human diet and the important place of cow dung and cow urine in organic farming, the state government has decided to give the status of ‘Rajya Mata-Gomata’ to indigenous cows.
The aim of the government is to motivate cattle farmers to raise indigenous cows. Along with this, the government has decided to start subsidy distribution to cotton and soybean farmers in the cabinet meeting. Under this, in the first phase, Rs 2398 crore 93 lakh is being deposited in the accounts of 49 lakh 50 thousand account holders.
Similarly, the cabinet has decided to increase the retirement gratuity of retired government employees from Rs 14 lakh to Rs 20 lakh directly. This decision of the state government will put a burden of Rs 100 crore on the government treasury in three years.
