After the elimination of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah and continuous air strikes, the Israeli army has entered Lebanon and started ground attacks. On Tuesday, the Israeli army said that its soldiers have launched a limited and targeted ground attack against Hezbollah’s bases and infrastructure in southern Lebanon.
It is searching Hezbollah’s tunnels near the border. Hezbollah’s tunnels are on the radar of the Israeli army near the Blue Line separating Israel from Lebanon. The Israel Defense Force (IDF) has said in a post shared on social media X that it has launched limited and targeted ground operations based on accurate intelligence against Hezbollah’s terrorist bases in southern Lebanon.
The Israel Defense Force said that villages adjacent to the Lebanese border are being targeted because there are many Hezbollah bases here which remain a threat. The Israeli Air Force is helping in this ground operation. Nasrallah and his six top commanders and associates have been killed in Israeli attacks in the last 10 days.
According to the Health Ministry, more than 1000 people have been killed in the country in the last two weeks. According to the Israeli army, they have targeted terrorist hideouts in large parts of Lebanon. Hezbollah has suffered heavy losses in recent days, but its executive leader Naeem Qassem issued a statement saying that if Israel decides to launch a ground attack, Hezbollah fighters are ready. Naeem has claimed that the killed commanders have already been replaced. Naeem has been Nasrallah’s deputy for a long time and is temporarily handling the organization after his death.
Meanwhile, Israel, carried out a massive campaign against Hezbollah, shook Lebanon’s capital Beirut with continuous drone attacks in the early hours of Monday. The Israeli army targeted a building in the city with a drone attack.
At least 4 people were killed in the attack, including three top leaders of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), which is actively fighting against Israel. Israel continues to launch airstrikes which it claims are Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, which claimed the lives of over 100 people and wounded over 350 others Sunday.
