Christian Groups Demand Action Against Waqf Board’s False Claims as Land Seizures Surge

The Wakf Board’s false claims and arbitrary actions are increasingly coming to light, with the latest incident emerging from Kerala’s Ernakulam district. Over 600 Christian families have filed a complaint with a parliamentary committee, accusing the Waqf Board of falsely claiming their land as its property, raising fears of eviction. Leading Christian organizations, such as the Syro-Malabar Church and the Kerala Catholic Bishops’ Council (KCBC), have urged the joint parliamentary committee on the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024 to address this pressing issue.
