United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has condemned the Iranian attack on Israel. He has also expressed concern over the situation in the Middle East. Notably a meeting of the United Nations Security Council was held on Wednesday on the situation in the Middle East.
Guterres said his point in this. Speaking about the attack on Israel, the UN Secretary-General said that when Iran attacked in April 2024, I had said the same thing about the attack, I am still saying the same. I once again strongly condemn Iran’s missile attack on Israel. Ironically, these attacks do nothing to reduce the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Guterres said, ‘The fire that has erupted in the Middle East is rapidly becoming hell. I told the Security Council about the dire situation in Lebanon exactly a week ago. Since then the situation has gone from bad to worse. I informed the Council last week that tensions have been seen in the Blue Line for years, but since October the firing range has increased here’.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also stressed on respect for Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also said that Lebanon should also have full control over its weapons. Guterres said that the situation in the Middle East has seen a dramatic escalation. He wondered what is left of the framework established by the Security Council with Resolution 1701.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday night at 10 pm, Iran has attacked Israel. According to the media reports, Iran has fired more than 200 missiles on Israel. The Israeli army confirmed the attack and said that Iran has attacked with a ballistic missile.
The Israeli army said that all the people have been sent to safe places. The army said that millions of people are in bomb shelters. ;We are ready to help our people in every way. We will protect our people at every cost’, said the Israeli Army. The Israeli army is intercepting the missiles coming from Iran and destroying them in the air.
