The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has unveiled plans to construct the state’s first 3D-printed art gallery in Ayodhya. The temple town, known for its religious and cultural significance, is set for a transformative upgrade as part of the government’s broader vision to establish Ayodhya as a centre of cultural excellence and planned development.
The project aims to blend Ayodhya’s rich heritage with cutting-edge technology, furthering its reputation as a hub for both spiritual and cultural tourism. The exact date for the start of construction of Uttar Pradesh’s first 3D-printed art gallery in Ayodhya has not been officially announced yet.
However, preparations by the Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) are already underway and the project’s detailed design is in the process of being finalized. Once the design and other procedural formalities are complete, the construction timeline is expected to be outlined.
The Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) has commenced groundwork for the project, which is set to occupy a 1,500 –square-meter area near Vashishtha Bhawan on Tedhi Bazar Road. The state-of-the-art gallery will feature an exhibition hall, a sculpture gallery, and an amphitheater, creating a dynamic space for showcasing local and global art. Visitors can also look forward to modern amenities such as a garden, lounge, cafeteria, art-boutique, and craft shops.
An ADA official highlighted that this 3D-printed art gallery will serve as a pilot initiative, demonstrating the advantages of 3D printing technology in construction. The spokesperson said, ‘This approach will not only save costs but also reduce environmental impact’.
The structure, with a height of 7.5 metres, will primarily be constructed using a concrete mixture, with advanced technologies like Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Structural Analyzing and Designing (STAAD) software guiding the process.
A mechanized multi-level smart parking facility will be developed in the Ramkot locality, close to the Ram Janmabhoomi temple. The project, with an investment of Rs 53 crore, will offer a high-tech solution to the increasing demand for parking space in the area, especially for pilgrims and tourists visiting the temple. This smart parking system is part of the broader development initiative for Ayodhya, aimed at enhancing infrastructure and visitor inconvenience in the temple town.
These projects signal a transformative phase in Ayodhya’s development, blending the town’s rich cultural heritage with advanced modern technology.
