On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Laos on a two-day foreign visit. PM Modi will attend the 21st ASEAN-India Summit and the 19th East Asia Summit to be held in Vientiane, the capital of Laos.

During this visit, various bilateral meetings and talks will also take place with various world leaders. The host of the conference this year is Laos, the current chair of ASEAN. According to the Indian Foreign Ministry, India is completing a decade of Act East policy this year.
Relations with ASEAN are the central pillar of the Act East policy and our Indo-Pacific vision. This conference will review the progress of India-ASEAN relations through our comprehensive strategic partnership and determine the future direction of cooperation.
On the sad demise of Ratan Tata, PM Modi tweeted on X (formerly Twitter), ‘Shri Ratan Tata Ji was a visionary business leader, a compassionate soul and an extraordinary human being. He provided stable leadership to one of India’s oldest and most prestigious business houses. At the same time, his contribution went far beyond the boardroom.
