Renowned former cricketer Ajay Jadeja will be the next successor of the Jamnagar royal family. Jam Saheb Shatrushlya Singh Maharaj announced this on Saturday morning. Along with being a cricketer, Ajay Jadeja was associated with the Afghanistan cricket team as a mentor during the T20 World Cup and the team performed brilliantly.
Shatrushlya Singhji said, “Dussehra is the day on which the Pandavas experienced victory by successfully completing 14 years of exile. Today I also feel victorious, because Ajay Jadeja has accepted to be my successor and the next Jam Saheb of Nawanagar, which I really consider a great blessing for the people of Jamnagar.”
He also thanked Ajay Jadeja for accepting this responsibility. The royal family of Jamnagar has a rich heritage in cricket. The prestigious Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy are named after Jadeja’s relatives KS Ranjitsinhji and KS Duleepsinhji respectively.
