On October 16, 1905, Bengal was partitioned by British Viceroy Lord Curzon, an event known as “Bang-Bhang.” The British claimed the division was for administrative convenience due to Bengal’s large population of around 80 million. Liaquat Ali Khan, born on October 1, 1895, served as Pakistan’s first Prime Minister and was a close associate of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He received his early education at Aligarh Muslim University and later studied law at Oxford University.
