On Saturday, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is going to hold a statewide protest in Telangana. Vishwa Hindu Parishad has announced a statewide protest against the attacks on Hindu temples in Telangana. The organization alleges that the Congress government of Telangana has been negligent in this matter.
Cases of vandalizing idols of Hindu deities have been reported at two places in Telangana’s capital Hyderabad. VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal said that the protest is going to be held in all the district centers of the state.
Earlier this month, it is worth mentioning that incidents of vandalizing idols of Hindu deities were reported at two places in Hyderabad. The first incident came to light from Nampally Exhibition Ground in Begum Bazar police station area of Hyderabad, where the idol of Maa Durga was vandalized in the puja pandal.
The second incident took place in Mondal division of Secunderabad. A person vandalized the Muthyalamma temple located here. The police have registered a case in both the cases. On the other hand, the BJP demanded a National Investigation Agency (NIA) investigation into the incident.
In the first case, the police said that a vagrant was behind the incident. However, he did not do it intentionally. He was hungry. He went to take out the prasad in search of food. At that time, the idol was accidentally broken. In the second incident in Mandal of Secunderabad, the people nearby caught a person and handed him over to the police. The accused has been identified as Salman Salim Thakur.
