Seven workers, including a doctor, have died in a major terrorist attack in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir. Five other people have been injured in the attack, who are being treated at SKIMS Srinagar and Sub District Hospital.
The terrorist organization The Resistance Front (TRF) has claimed responsibility for the attack which is a branch of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. Police officials said about the terrorsist attack that the attackers opened indiscriminate fire on a camp of laborers on Sunday night.
Workers of a company engaged in the construction of Z-Morh tunnel in Gagangir on Srinagar-Leh National Highway were staying in this camp. The attack is being described as a target killing. Officials said that two laborers died on the spot in the attack, while five others including a doctor died later.
At the same time, five injured have been admitted to the Sub District Hospital and SKIMS Srinagar. Presently, a team of security forces is present at the spot and a search operation is going on in the area. The deceased have been identified as Gurmeet Singh, resident of Gurdaspur Punjab, Dr Shahnawaz, resident of Budgam, Anil Kumar Shukla, Faheem Nazir, Shashi Abrol, Mohammad Hanif and Kaleem.
