Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday addressed the ‘Roundtable on Investment Opportunities in India’ at the New York Stock Exchange. During this, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that India is ready to move forward on the path of development.
Presently, India is the fifth largest economy in the world. She said that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has estimated that it will become the third largest economy by 2027. Sitharaman said that India’s contribution to global growth is expected to increase by 200 basis points in the next five years.
According to a statement released by the Finance Ministry on Exchange on Tuesday, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said this while addressing the ‘Roundtable on Investment Opportunities in India’ at the New York Stock Exchange. In her address, the Finance Minister described improving the parameters of ease of doing business for enterprises in India and reducing regulatory and compliance burdens as the cornerstone of New Delhi’s policy.
Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was hosted by Lynn Martin, President, New York Stock Exchange at the world’s largest stock exchange in New York. On this occasion, the Union Finance Minister visited the National Historic Landmark and interacted with a floor operator dressed in the iconic blue jacket, who briefed her on the aspects of trading at the New York Stock Exchange and also showed her 11 Indian companies trading on the stock market.
The Finance Minister thanked Lynn Martin and his team for the visit to the New York Stock Exchange.
