NCP leader Baba Siddiqui’s shooters were in touch with Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol Bishnoi before killing him. This disclosure has been made by the Mumbai Crime Branch, which is investigating this murder case. According to the Crime Branch, interrogation of the accused revealed that the accused were using several Snapchat accounts to stay in touch with Anmol.
However, the motive behind the murder is unknown. It is noteworthy that Baba Siddiqui was shot dead outside the office of his son Zeeshan Siddiqui when he was lighting firecrackers on the occasion of Dussehra. Through a Facebook post, a member of the gang claimed that they targeted Siddiqui due to his close relationship with actor Salman Khan and alleged links with underworld figures like Dawood Ibrahim.
The Crime Branch said that Anmol was in contact with the accused from Canada and the US. Four mobile phones have been recovered from the accused. The Crime Branch of Mumbai Police said in a statement that the accused were in touch with each other through Snapchat and would immediately delete the instruction message after receiving it.
When the Snapchat of the arrested accused was closely examined, it was found that the shooter and Praveen Lonkar were in direct contact with Anmol Bishnoi. Lonkar had allegedly provided logistical support to the three attackers who shot Siddiqui. Two of the three shooters have been arrested while one accused is still absconding. In the case of Baba Siddiqui’s murder, the police have so far arrested 10 people, including two shooters and an arms supplier. Before shooting Baba Siddiqui, the accused were doing a recce of Zeeshan’s office.
