Just four days following a terror attack occurred in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal claiming seven lives, a non-local labourer was shot as by terrorists on the morning of Thursday. The present attack took place at Tral area in south Kashmir at around 8am this morning. As per preliminary investigation only one terrorist is believed to be behind this attack.
Meanwhile, the security forces have closed off the area in an attempt to nab the terrorists. A native of Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor, the 19-year-old injured labourer has been recognised as Pritam Singh. The man who sustained a bullet injury in his right hand, has been admitted to a nearby hospital.
Back to back terror attack has occurred in the region. The security forces have closed off the area and launched a massive search operation. The investigators are also scanning the CCTV to get any leads about the perpetrators. Top officials from the security forces attended a high-level security meeting at around 11am on Thursday. The meeting was chaired by the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
It was attended by J&K DGP, Home secretary, ADG, IG Kashmir, Northern Army commander and others.This is latest in the series of terror attack in the region. Earlier on October 20, the terrorists, believed to be at least two, opened fire on the group of labourers, including both locals and non-locals, killing seven on the spot.
The terror plot was carried out when the labourers and other staff working on the tunnel project had came back to their camp late in the evening, officials had said. So far Investigators have rounded up around 43 suspects for questioning as part of investigations into the deadly terror attack.
Notably, the attack was occurred near an under-construction tunnel, prompting responses from security forces. Officials reported that the victims were part of a construction team working on the Z Morh tunnel, which aims to connect Gaganeer to Sonamarg in Central Kashmir.
