India’s first Lok Sabha elections began on 25 October 1951 and were held between 25 October 1951 and 21 February 1952. At that time, there were 489 Lok Sabha seats and 401 parliamentary constituencies. On October 25, 1800, British historian and politician Thomas Macaulay was born, also known as Lord Macaulay. He is often criticized for imposing Western education methods on India with the aim of dismantling the traditional Indian education system.
