The eighth edition of Deepotsav in Ayodhya, scheduled for October 28 to October 30 promises to be a grand spectacle that merges tradition and modernity, signifying the cultural richness of the Ramayana while embracing cultural richness of the Ramayana while embracing digital advancements.

The main attraction of this year’s Deepotsav will be the newly installed digital pillars along Dharmapath and Lata Chowk, which will depict various scenes from the Ramayana, giving the Mandir city of Ayodhya a vibrant and futuristic look.

As the home of Bhagwan Ram, Ayodhya is a city steeped in spiritual and historical significance. However, with the new developments planned for Deepotsav, Ayodhya is transforming into a digital marvel, blending its ancient heritage with modern technology. The 24 digital pillars, each standing 15 feet tall, will showcase iconic scenes from the Ramayana, illuminating the city in a way never seen before. These pillars will be placed strategically along the Dharma path and are set to enhance the grandeur of the city for both locals and tourists.

This year’s Deepotsav holds significance, as it marks the first Deepotsav since the consecration ceremony of Bhagwan Ram. The festival, celebrating the homecoming of Bhagwan Ram to Ayodhya after his 14-year exile, is expected to recreate the spiritual ambience of Treta Yuga. From elaborate lighting at Ram Ki Paidi and Ram Katha Park to major pathways decked with illumination, the city will be bathed in light, honouring the celebration of devotion and spirituality.

The event’s lighting arrangements are being managed by Asad from Mim Production, an expert team known for sophisticated effects that add a touch of artistic flair to large-scale events. The fusion of ancient devotion and modern illumination will captivate visitors, as Ayodhya will glow brighter than ever before.

A highlight of the Deepotsav 2024 celebrations will be the grand Ramlila performances held at Ramkatha Park. The Ramlila will feature artists from Uttarakhand and performers from six other nations, including Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Indonesia.
