After Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram was seated in his palace after 500 years, Ayodhya made two new records. Creating a new record, 25,12,585 (25 lakh, 12 thousand 5 hundred eighty five) lamps were lit in Deepotsav 2024. Last year in 2023, 22.23 lakh lamps were lit. The second record was of Saryu Aarti, where 1121 Vedacharyas participated together. This unique record has been achieved for the first time by the Yogi government.

After counting the lamps done by drone, Deepotsav has registered a new record in the Guinness Book of World Records. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s commitment towards Ayodhya has once again got Ramnagari registered in the global record list. Representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records saw this ‘Grand Festival of Lights’ of the Uttar Pradesh government and finally gave the status of a world record to lighting such a large number of lamps at one place simultaneously.

Under the leadership of the Yogi government, teachers of Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University and its affiliated colleges, teachers and students of inter colleges, voluntary organizations, saints, local public representatives, local administration, Ministry of Tourism-Culture etc. also played a big role in creating the record.

As soon as the scheduled time of lighting the lamps started, 25,12,585 lamps were lit one by one with the chanting of ‘Shri Ram Jai Ram Jai Jai Ram’. With the announcement of the record by the representatives of the Guinness Book of World Records, the whole Ayodhya resounded with the chanting of ‘Jai Shri Ram’. This information was given by the representative of the Guinness Book of World Records after drone counting.

Earlier, a record of lighting lamps was created. On being handed over the certificate by the Guinness Book of World Records, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath greeted the entire Ayodhya, the people of the state and the countrymen. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated everyone on this unforgettable, amazing achievement.

In 2017, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the creator of Deepotsav, again entered every heart. Giving a concrete form to the strong relationship of his Gorakshapeeth with Ayodhya, the Chief Minister continued it continuously. During the first and second tenure of CM Yogi, this celebration of Deepotsav kept getting richer and richer, and Ayodhya, divine with lamps and grand with emotions, once again made Yogi sit in every heart.

A record was created by lighting 1.71 lakh lamps in Ayodhya in 2017, 3.01 lakh in 2018, 4.04 lakh in 2019, 6.06 lakh in 2020 and 9.41 lakh in 2021, 15.76 lakh in 2022, 22.23 lakh lamps in 2023. This time more than 25.12 lakh lamps were lit. With the increasing number of lamps every year under the Yogi government, the prosperity of the state and the country kept increasing.
