Israel launched airstrikes on Hezbollah strongholds in Beirut, in the early hours of Friday making its first attack in nearly a week. According to the media reports, at least 10 strikes targeted Beirut’s southern suburbs at dawn, leaving dozens injured from incidents spanning Thursday night into Friday morning.
Israeli warplanes conducted raids on many locations, including Ghobeiry, Al-Kafaat, the Sayyed Hadi Highway, the area surrounding the Al-Mujtaba Complex, and the old airport road.
The strikes come a day following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held discussions with visiting U.S. officials regarding a potential ceasefire to the increasing conflict in Lebanon.
According to the media reports, explosions and smoke across the suburbs of Beirut was captured and several buildings were leveled and fires ignited. In recent weeks, the Israeli military has intensified airstrikes on southern Beirut and other parts of the capital, as well as across Lebanon.
