Just after the successful conclusion of assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the region’s progress has come under threat from a dangerous and regressive proposal. On the third day of the J&K Assembly session, a resolution to reinstate Article 370 was pushed forward—a blatant attempt to drag the region back to a past rife with separatist agendas and stagnation. Despite BJP MLAs’ firm opposition, the Deputy CM Surinder Kumar Choudhary, backed by the National Conference (NC) and Congress, put forth this proposal, shamelessly disregarding the extensive efforts of the central government to abrogate Article 370 and usher in development and stability.
