Men should not sew clothes for women or cut a woman’s hair. This proposal has been given by the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission to protect women from ‘bad touch’ and stop the bad intentions of men. After a meeting of the State Women’s Commission on October 28, several suggestions were given, including not allowing men to take measurements of women and also installing CCTV cameras.
Women’s Commission member Himani Agarwal said, “In the Women’s Commission meeting on October 28, a proposal was made that only female tailors should take measurements of stitched clothes worn by women and CCTVs should be installed there. She said that this proposal was made by State Women’s Commission President Babita Chauhan and the members present in the meeting supported it.”
Himani Agarwal said that we have also said that only female barbers will cut women’s hair in salons. Our view is that men involved in this type of profession harass women. She also said that it is not that all men have bad intentions. Himani Agarwal said that this is just a proposal and the Women Commission will then request the state government to make a law in this regard.
On the other hand, Babita Chauhan, President of the State Women Commission, said that the trainer in the gym where women go should be a woman. All gym trainers should have police verification. If a woman wants to take training from a male trainer, she will have to give it in writing. Because we are constantly receiving complaints of exploitation of women and girls going to the gym. After this, this decision has been taken.
Babita Chauhan, President of the State Women Commission, said that a female tailor should be kept to take measurements in the tailor shop where women’s clothes are stitched. Also, there should be a female employee in the girls’ school bus. At present, the Women Commission has given orders in this regard. Legal action will be taken against those who do not obey.
