On Tuesday, a Chhattisgarh advocate was arrested by Mumbai Police for issuing a death threat to Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. Faizan Khan, who also demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh, was arrested from his Raipur residence.
Previously, Faizan Khan had said he would come to Mumbai on November 14 to give his statement to the Bandra police. Since he had been receiving a lot of threats over the past two days, he wrote to the Mumbai Police Commissioner and requested that his statement be recorded virtually citing his safety.
The threat to the actor follows a series of threats issued to Salman Khan, allegedly from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Last week, the threat message was received by Bandra police station, following which an extortion case was registered. During the investigation, police found that the threat call to the actor was made from a phone number registered in the name of Faizan Khan.
A Mumbai police team visited Raipur and summoned Faizan for questioning. However, Faizan told the police that he had lost his phone on November 2 and had lodged a complaint. Faizan said the threat call made from his number was a conspiracy against him. Faizan also claimed that he had filed a complaint against Shah Rukh Khan at Bandra police station for causing enmity between two religious groups, and he was being framed for it.
He alleged that in the 1993 film ‘Anjaam’, it was shown that Khan had killed a deer, and he asked his staff to cook and eat it. Faizan, in a video posted on YouTube, also alleged that the actor had links to terror elements.
“I hail from Rajasthan. The Bishnoi community (which is from Rajasthan) is my friend. It is in their religion to protect deer. So, if a Muslim says something like this about deer, it is condemnable. Therefore, I raised an objection,” Faizan told the media. In October last year, the actor had also received a death threat, following which he was given Y+ level security
