Voting is going on in Maharashtra today. Voting is being held on all 288 assembly seats of Maharashtra. The reputation of many big leaders of the state is at stake. These big leaders include Sharad Pawar, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Uddhav Thackeray, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis.
The pace of voting is a bit slow in Maharashtra, 45.53 % people have cast their votes till 3 pm whereas in Jharkhand, 61 % voting has been recorded till 3 pm. In Maharashtra, BJP is contesting on 149 seats, Shiv Sena on 81 and Ajit Pawar-led NCP on 59 seats.
Congress has fielded candidates on 101 seats, Shiv Sena (UBT) on 95 and NCP (SP) on 86 seats in Maharashtra. On more than 50 seats, the candidates of both Shiv Senas are against each other, while in 37 constituencies, both Pawar have fielded their candidates. On the other hand, in the second phase of Jharkhand assembly elections, voting has started at 7 am on 38 assembly seats of 12 districts.
In the second phase, voting is being held at 14,218 booths. During this, strong and strict security arrangements have been made. State Chief Electoral Officer K Ravikumar said that voting has started at 7 am on 38 seats. He said that there is a crowd of voters at the booths since morning. 585 companies of central paramilitary forces, 60 companies of JAP, besides 30 thousand jawans of district force and home guard have been deployed for security at the polling stations.
Votes will be cast from 7 am to 5 pm for 38 seats in the second phase of Jharkhand assembly elections. In this phase, a total of 1.23 crore voters will exercise their franchise while 528 candidates are in the fray. Voting has already started in Jharkhand’s Rajmahal, Borio, Barhet, Littipara, Pakur, Maheshpur, Shikaripara, Nala, Jamtara, Dumka, Jama, Jarmundi, Madhupur, Sarath, Deoghar, Poudeyahat, Godda, Mahagama, Ramgarh, Mandu, Dhanwar, Bagodar, Jamua, Gandey, Giridih, Dumri, Gomia, Bermo, Bokaro, Chandankyari, Sindri, Nirsa, Dhanbad, Jharia, Tundi, Baghmara, Silli and Khijri seats.
