In the by-elections held on 48 assembly seats across the country, out of 5 seats in Assam, BJP is leading on two, Assam Gana Parishad on one, UPP Liberal on one and Congress on one. Out of 9 seats in Uttar Pradesh, BJP has won Ghaziabad, Majhawan and is leading on 4 seats. Rashtriya Lok Dal is leading on one seat and Samajwadi Party has won on two seats.
On the other hand, out of four seats in Bihar, BJP has won on two and alliance parties Janata Dal (U) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) have won on two seats. BJP is leading on one seat in Raipur City South of Chhattisgarh and BJP is also leading on Vav seat of Gujarat. Congress party has won all three seats in Karnataka. Out of two seats in Kerala, Congress has won on one and CPM is leading on one.
Out of two seats in Madhya Pradesh, BJP is leading on one and Congress on one. One seat in Meghalaya has gone to NPP party. Congress has won the Barnala seat in Punjab and Aam Aadmi Party has won the remaining three. Out of the 7 seats in Rajasthan, BJP is leading in five seats, Congress in one and Bharat Adivasi Party in one. Unopposed elections have already been held in two seats of Sikkim. Both the seats have gone to Sikkim Krantikari Morcha.
Out of the 9 seats in Uttar Pradesh, BJP is leading in 6 seats, Rashtriya Lok Dal in one and Samajwadi Party in two seats. The only seat of Uttarakhand, Kedarnath, has gone to the account of BJP. Out of the by-elections held on 6 seats in West Bengal, Trinamool has won four and is leading in two. In the by-elections held on Wayanad and Nanded seats of Lok Sabha, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra (Congress) is leading in Wayanad seat of Kerala and Dr. Santukrao Marotrao Hambarde (BJP) is leading in Nanded seat of Maharashtra.
