Bhubaneswar, 21 December (H.S.): The fourth phase of the first installment under the Subhadra Yojana is anticipated to be disbursed in January 2025.
Addressing the delays in fund release, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida stated that over 20 lakh beneficiaries are set to receive the Subhadra Yojana funds in this phase.
“Every eligible individual will have the opportunity to benefit from the Subhadra Yojana. The delay is primarily due to verification challenges, including land disputes. We have set December 30 as the deadline for completing document verification. If the process is finalised by then, we aim to release the funds in January,” Parida explained.
Concerning the inclusion of Bonda tribal women in the scheme, the Deputy Chief Minister reported that over 12,000 women from the community had applied for benefits. Of these, 9,000 have already received their first installment, while 3,000 beneficiaries are still awaiting the Rs 5,000 deposit in their bank accounts.
It is worth noting that the fourth phase of Subhadra funds was initially scheduled for release on December 25. However, the state government postponed the disbursement due to ongoing verification processes.
In the third phase, the state disbursed funds to 20 lakh women beneficiaries on November 24. To date, approximately 80 lakh women have benefited from the Subhadra Yojana, the state’s flagship welfare programme.
