25 December (H.S.): It is claimed that there is a Shiva temple below Dilkunsha Plaza Apartment on 47/9 Vidhan Sabha Road in Lucknow. This claim has been made by Meeta Das Gajraj Singh Temple and Bhakti Bhavna Janhit Karyak Samiti. Yagyamani Dixit of the priest family of Bhakti Bhavna Janhit Karyak Samiti told reporters that Dr. Shahid Hussain, resident of Amberganj, has built Dilkunsha Plaza Apartment on Assembly Road.
“There is a Shiva temple built below this apartment. This temple belongs to God, we are ancestral priests. Yagnamani told that his father Ramakrishna Dixit had registered a committee to save the Shiva temple, namely Meeta Das Gajraj Singh Mandir and Bhakti Bhavna Janhit Karyak Samiti. To save the temple, this committee had lodged a theft FIR in Kaiserbagh police station on August 14, 1994.”
He further said that in the FIR lodged in Kaiserbagh police station, during the capture of the temple, the idol of Radha Krishna made of Ashtadhatu, gold jewellery, and there were complaints of theft of many items. That’s why no concrete action was taken in the entire matter.
Gradually the entire temple was captured. He is carrying forward his father’s fight. The committee has claimed that in 1885, a social worker named Gajraj Singh had built a Shiva temple on his land in Lucknow. There was also a temple of Radha Krishna and a big banyan tree on this land. During the capture of the temple, trees were cut, which was banned by the magistrate. Despite this, trees were cut, the temple was removed and apartments were made.
