Shimla, 27 December (HS): The weather has changed once again in Himachal Pradesh. Snowfall has been occurring on the mountain ranges of the state since last night. At the same time, snowfall has started in Kufri, a tourist destination adjacent to the capital Shimla, from Friday morning, which has doubled the joy of tourists. Shimla city and hill stations like Manali are covered with thick clouds and the weather remains favorable for snowfall. Light rain is occurring at some places in the plains of the state.
This is the third snowfall of the season in the hilly areas of the state in December. Earlier, snowfall had also occurred on December 8 and December 23-24. This series of snowfall is being seen in the mountainous areas, especially in the upper areas of Shimla, Kullu, Lahaul Spiti, Kinnaur, Mandi and Chamba districts. Due to the previous snowfall in these areas, many roads were blocked and the transport system collapsed.
Due to the bad weather in Himachal Pradesh, the tourism sector is witnessing a boom. The weather department has issued a forecast for the coming days. According to this, rain and snowfall is expected in many areas of the state on 27, 28 and 29 December. The weather is expected to remain clear on 30 and 31 December. Snowfall is expected again in the first week of the new year i.e. on 1st and 2nd January. Due to this forecast of the weather department, a huge increase in the number of tourists in the state can be seen in the desire of snowfall.
Due to this change in the weather, the cold wave has intensified in the entire state. The mercury of five cities of the state was recorded in minus on Friday. These include -11 degrees in Tabo of Lahaul-Spiti, -7.2 degrees in Kukumseri, -6.5 degrees in Samdho, -6.4 degrees in Keylong and -1.1 degrees in Kalpa. Apart from this, 0.2 degrees in Manali, 0.3 degrees in Sarahan, 1.1 degrees in Bhuntar, 1.5 degrees in Bharmour, 1.6 degrees in Narkanda, 1.8 degrees in Reckong Peo, 2.5 degrees in Seobagh, 3 degrees in Kufri, 3.1 degrees in Sundernagar and 5 degrees Celsius in Shimla have been recorded.
