New Delhi, 31 December (H.S.): A special court in Bengaluru has sentenced a Bangladeshi terrorist to seven years rigorous imprisonment.
Zahidul Aslam alias Kausar, convicted in a case related to robbery, conspiracy, extortion and narcotics, has also been fined ₹55,000.
Investigation revealed that the accused had infiltrated India after carrying out a series of bomb blasts in Bangladesh. The court passed this order in connection with the National Investigation Agency’s investigation into the 2018 Bodh Gaya blast, the 2014 Burdwan blast and the expansion of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh-India activities.
Along with this, the National Investigation Agency said in a statement that 11 accused have been convicted in this case.
According to sources, during the investigation of the Kolkata branch of the National Investigation Agency in the Burdwan blast case, the Bengaluru City Police had registered a case in 2019.
