Bhubaneswar, 2 January (H.S.): The Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri, experienced an exceptional surge in donations on January 1, amassing a record-breaking ₹10.9 lakh in cash.
In addition to the cash donations, devotees generously contributed 300 mg of gold and 33.5 grams of silver ornaments to the temple’s Hundi (donation box).
Thousands of devotees flocked to the temple to welcome the new year with the blessings of Lord Jagannath, offering their prayers and heartfelt contributions.
Temple authorities confirmed that this year’s New Year’s Day donations have set a new record, surpassing all previous totals.
