Jasprit Bumrah, who is captaining in place of Rohit Sharma in this match, won the toss and decided to bat first. The Indian team had a bad start and by the 8th over both openers KL Rahul (04) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (10) returned to the pavilion. Rahul was sent to the pavilion by Mitchell Starc and Yashasvi by Stokes Boland. After this, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill took India’s score beyond 50, however, Gill became the victim of Nathan Lyon after scoring 20 runs at a total score of 57.
