Sydney, 4 January (H.S.): Australian international player Cameron Bancroft suffered a broken shoulder and nose bone in a collision with teammate Daniel Sams during a Big Bash League (BBL) match. His team Sydney Thunder gave the above information on Saturday.
Bancroft and Sams were admitted to the hospital after a collision while catching a ball in the field against Perth Scorchers on Friday. After the collision, both the players got injured and remained lying on the field. Opener Bancroft, who has played 10 Tests for Australia and was banned for nine months in 2018 for ball tampering against South Africa, was bleeding from his nose.
Sams, who has played 10 T20 matches for Australia, was taken off on a stretcher after colliding with his teammate 32-year-old player. “In addition to the head injury, Bancroft also suffered a fracture of his nose and right collarbone,” the team said in a statement.
