Bhubaneswar, 7 January (H.S.): In preparation for the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations in Odisha, External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, visited the iconic Konark Sun Temple and the Interpretation Centre on Tuesday. Jaishankar’s cultural journey began at the Interpretation Centre, which serves as an entry point to understanding the rich historical and cultural heritage of Konark. The centre provides visitors with an in-depth perspective on the significance of the Sun Temple, enhancing their appreciation of the region’s legacy.
As Odisha hosts the annual Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) from around the world have gathered in Bhubaneswar to partake in the festivities. This event celebrates the invaluable contributions of the global Indian community, attracting attendees from various nations.
Many participants seized the opportunity to visit Puri, the spiritual heart of Odisha, where they sought blessings at the revered Jagannath Temple. The pilgrimage to this sacred shrine has been a highlight for the visiting diaspora, who share deep emotional and spiritual connections to the temple.
The event saw attendees travelling from distant locations, including London, highlighting its significance and the cultural and spiritual ties it fosters among Indians abroad. Visitors expressed their delight at the spiritual atmosphere of the Jagannath Temple and the warm hospitality extended by the local community.
