Nine Proposals Approved In Jharkhand Cabinet, Budget Session From February 24

Ranchi, 7 January (H.S.): A total of nine proposals were approved in the cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

The formation of Appointment Rules, 2025 for the selection of Director General and Inspector General of Police (Head of Police Force) in the state has been approved. The cabinet has approved the proposal for the budget session between 24 February and 27 March. The nomination committee for the selection of Director General of Police (DGP) will be constituted under the chairmanship of a retired Justice of the High Court. The Chief Secretary, member nominated by UPSC, JPSC Chairman or member nominated by him, retired DGP will be members of this committee. Also, the Secretary of Home Department, Principal Secretary or Additional Chief Secretary will be the Member Secretary of the Committee. This committee will select the DGP. These nine proposals got approval

-Approval has been given to identify the posts as per the current requirement in the light of the posts created earlier in Jharkhand Lower Education Service.

-Approval was given to formulate the Selection and Appointment Rules, 2024 of Director General and Inspector General of Police, Jharkhand (Chief of Police Force).

-Approval of the Council of Ministers was given to convene the second (budget) session of the Sixth Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from 24 February to 27 March and the related provisional program.

-Approval was given to the MoU format to be done with the State Government and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Central Government for setting up a new AIIMS in Deoghar district with the aim of providing quality medical facilities in the state of Jharkhand.

-Under the provisions of amended section-14 of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, approval was given to designate the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge-1, Nagar Untari, Garhwa as a Special Court.

-Approval was given on the iko formation of Jharkhand Nurse Non-Academic Cadre (Appointment, Promotion and Other Service Conditions) Rules, 2025.

-Relaxing Rule-235 of the Finance Rules for organizing the pre-budget workshop, under Rule-245, approval was given to select Assistant Professor Dr. Seema Akhouri of St. Xavier’s College, Ranchi and her team as knowledge partners on the basis of nomination.

-Ex post facto approval was given on the proposal to make partial amendment in the provisions made for appointment to the posts of Managing Director and Director in Jharkhand Energy Development Corporation Limited and its subsidiary companies.

-In the light of compliance with the order of Jharkhand High Court, approval was given to promote Sadan Prasad (then Branch Officer, Excise and Prohibition Department, Jharkhand), currently retired, to the post of Under Secretary category with retrospective effect along with financial benefits.
