Bijapur/Narayanpur/Raipur, January 11 (HS): CRPF head constable was injured in IED blast planted by Maoists in Bijapur district on Saturday morning. Injured Jawan Rakesh Kulur has been admitted to the district hospital.
According to the information released by Bijapur Police Station, this morning, CRPF force team from CRPF 196 Battalion Mahadev Ghat had left for the forest on area domination. During area domination, CRPF head constable Rakesh Kulur was injured in the blast of pressure IED planted by Maoists. The injured Jawan has been admitted to the District Hospital Bijapur.
At the same time, in a press note issued by Narayanpur police today, it has been told that a joint team of DRG, BSF and BDS team recovered 4 IEDs on Friday in the forest on the village Kachchapal-Toke road under police station Kohkameta area.
Superintendent of Police Narayanpur Prabhat Kumar said today that in view of the damage caused by the IED explosion incident, BDS teams are being sent to different areas to search for IEDs in the area and the IEDs planted by the Naxalites are being recovered. In this connection, on Friday, the joint forces of DRG, BSF and BDS from Camp Kachchapal under district Narayanpur area left for area domination towards Kachchapal-Toke road and surrounding areas. 4 IEDs weighing more than 5 kg were discovered on the Kachchapal-Kutul main road forest and were deactivated by the security forces and BDS team. The IED was planted by the Maoists with the intention of harming the security forces.
It is noteworthy that at this very place, a cattle was seriously injured in an explosion on the morning of January 10 and two villagers had a narrow escape.
