Delhi, 17 January (H.S.): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is making new promises as Delhi Assembly elections are coming closer. In this sequence, now the party says that after the formation of the new government, it will provide free travel to students in Delhi buses and half price travel facility in Delhi Metro. In this context, AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has also written a letter to the Prime Minister.
Former Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding 50 percent discount in fare to students in Delhi Metro. Along with this, he has also requested to bear the discount given in fare equally.
Kejriwal has said in the letter written to the Prime Minister that Delhi Metro is a project of 50-50 percent cooperation of the Central and Delhi Government. In such a situation, the expenditure incurred on the scheme should be borne equally by the Delhi Government and the Central Government.
In the letter, he said that the Delhi Government is planning to make bus travel free for students. He said that we hope that the Prime Minister will agree to this.
In a press conference, he said that we have guaranteed all the students of Delhi that the cost of bus and metro fare will no longer be a hindrance in education. When our government is formed, we will start free travel in buses for school-college students and will also give concession in metro fare. Every penny spent on students is an investment in the future of the country.
